About Mariela Fierro

Dietitian (Nutrition and Holistic Living)

I am excited to guide and support you through your newly found desired lifestyle. My commitment to your health will hold you accountable throughout your journey. I am passionate about people taking charge of their health and seeing how simple changes impact health tremendously in a natural way! My education and skills include a Holistic Nutritionist Certification, an undergraduate study in Health Science, and a Master’s degree in Counselor Education. Additionally, I am currently a year 4 Doctoral student in Integrative and Functional Nutrition at Saybrook University with a dissertation focus on gut bacteria, inflammatory responses, and lifestyle diseases.

On a personal note…

I enjoy running and practice yoga for stress relief and fitness benefits. I began running in 2015 as a way of coping after facing personal trial. Shortly after, I was training for my first half marathon! Ever since, I developed a love for the sport. Additionally, meditation through prayer became a source for mental and spiritual training.

I have been married to my husband Omar for 17 years and counting. We have a furry baby named Penny who we love dearly. She is extremely spoiled and behaves like a human.

If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done.

My Passion

My passion for living a life in the most healthy and natural way possible is the core of my practice. Utilizing the natural powers of food as medicine and incorporating the most up-to-date research that promotes complete wellness through a whole-body approach are the pillars of my practice. My goal is for you to take ownership of your own health by addressing the root causes of disease. Attitudes and behaviors towards food change when we develop an understanding of the impact food has on our bodies and its relationship with disease.
